Bhubaneswar: The first-ever three-day World Odia Language Conference will be held from February 3 to 5 in the State. The decision to organize the conference was taken at the Heritage Cabinet held on December 19 last year.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has emphasized making the conference a grand success. The CM has directed all concerned departments to work in coordination with the Department of Odia Language, Literature and Culture for this.
The conference will play a major role in further popularizing classical language Odia.
In today’s changing situation and the age of technology, this language conference will attract the youth towards the Odia language.
The conference will provide a vibrant platform for debates on the uniqueness of Odia language and its antiquity and future relevance.
Odia linguists from different countries will participate in the discussions on the antiquity and continuity of the Odia language. In addition, experts will make data-based presentations on the past, present and future aspects of the Odia language during these three days.
The conference will be attended by students, teachers, intellectuals and people from all walks of life, said an official release.
