Bhubaneswar: Three members of a Bhubaneswar family were killed and two others critically injured when their car collided with a truck at Baruva in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh on Sunday.
The deceased have been identified as Kanakalata, Abalya, and Aditya. All victims, including a woman and two children, belonged to the same family. The injured, Nagaraju and Janakiramana, are reported to be in critical condition and were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital.
According to reports, the family’s car was traveling from Bhubaneswar to Visakhapatnam when a truck coming from the opposite direction hit it. The truck swerved to avoid a two-wheeler, jumped the road divider, and collided with the car. Following the impact, the truck went off the road and landed in a nearby farmland.
Local residents, along with officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), rushed to the scene and carried out rescue operations. The victims were pulled from the wreckage, and the injured were transported to the hospital.
On being informed, the police reached the spot and launched an investigation into the incident.
