Bhubaneswar: Four labourers were injured after the roof of an under-construction building at Puri Railway station collapsed on them Sunday. The incident took place when the labourers were working in roof construction work.
The injured labourers were immediately taken to the Puri district headquarters hospital.
Some other labourers were suspected to be trapped under the debris. Heavy machines were used in the operation to remove the iron structures.
The mishap occurred at the new corridor of the ongoing railway station project. As many as six workers were working at the time of accident.
Meanwhile, Puri sub-collector rushed to the spot and took stock of the situation. He also assured to investigate the incident.
Railways said that all injured laborers have been promptly shifted to the hospital and are currently out of danger. An investigation into the incident has been ordered. Proper treatment to the injured persons is being ensured, a statement issued by the East Coast Railway said.
