Bhubaneswar: Three persons were injured when an equipment-laden truck met with an accident at Kalinga Ghati under G. Udayagiri police limits in Kandhamal district in the early hours of Wednesday.
According to reports, the truck was travelling from Kandhamal towards Bhanjanagar when the driver reportedly lost control while negotiating a steep stretch of the ghat road. The vehicle skidded off the route and overturned, leaving the driver and two accompanying staff members injured.
Local residents rushed to the spot after noticing the mishap and immediately alerted the Fire Services department. A team of fire personnel from G. Udayagiri reached the location, rescued the trapped occupants, and shifted them to the Community Health Centres (CHCs) at Tikabali and G. Udayagiri for treatment.
Police have initiated an investigation into the cause of the accident.
