Bhubaneswar: Three people were killed and 14 injured when a pick-up van they were travelling by overturned at Mundajor near Amjharan village under Lathikata police limits in Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Thursday night.
The deceased are yet to be identified.
According to reports, a marriage party, including the bridegroom, was travelling by a pick-up van to Lathikata from Jharkhand’s Banaposita to attend a marriage ceremony. The driver of the vehicle lost control of the wheel near Mundajor and the vehicle overturned. Three people were killed on the spot in the accident, while 14 sustained varying degrees of injuries. All the injured have been admitted to Rourkela Government Hospital where the condition of three was said to be critical.
On being informed, Lathikata police reached the accident site and started an investigation into the accident. They have also seized the ill-fated vehicle.
