Joda (Keonjhar): Six bike riders were hit by an unidentified speeding vehicle near the Joda town flyover in Keonjhar district tonight at around 9 PM. The collision resulted in the death of three persons, while three others are in critical condition and have been hospitalised.
At the time of reporting, the identities of the deceased had not been ascertained.
According to reports, six people were traveling on two bikes towards Barbil for some work when an unidentified vehicle rammed into them near the approach road of the Joda flyover. Three people died on the spot, while the other three sustained severe injuries.
Upon receiving the information, Joda police reached the accident site. The critically injured were rescued and admitted to the Tata Steel Hospital in Joda. The bodies were seized and sent for postmortem. Police have confiscated the two damaged bikes and launched a search operation to apprehend the accused driver.
The incident has sparked public outrage. Angry locals blocked the road, demanding compensation and immediate arrest of the accused driver.
