3 Looters Arrested In Mayurbhanj; Cash, Stolen Gold & Silver Ornaments Recovered

Baripada: Bhanjapur police in Mayurbhanj district have arrested three persons in connection with the gold chain snatching from an elderly woman at Vijay Ramchandrapur on January 5.

The accused have been identified as Rajesh Shyamal alias Raju Daa (23) and Somadatt  Nayak alias Paltu (29) both from Jharkhand and Adik Rao Vasant Sarak (46), a native of Maharashtra currently residing in Madhuban area of the town, police said in a press release.

Police have seized Rs 3.48 lakh in cash, a Pulsar motorcycle, 3 mobile phones, 6.5 gram of looted old ornament, gold ingot weighing 94 gm, 2770 gm silver ornaments, weighing machine, 4 nos. of bills and other articles, the release added.

The arrestees are professional criminals and are involved in eight cases lodged at Bhanjapur police station.
