Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Works Department has set up a three-member technical committee to submit its report within 15 days on the mishap that occurred yesterday during the construction work for the six-laning of the Cuttack Ring Road near Khannagar.
According to an official notification, the committee has been formed under the guidance of Works, Law, and Excise Minister Prithviraj Harichandan. The committee is tasked with investigating the cause and circumstances of the incident and recommending appropriate actions if negligence is found.
Headed by the Engineer-in-Chief-cum-Special Secretary of the Works Department, the panel also includes the Chief Engineer (Roads-II) and the Additional District Magistrate (General), Cuttack.
The committee has been directed to conduct a comprehensive inquiry to determine whether the incident resulted from human error or other lapses. Minister Prithviraj Harichandan stated that strict action will be taken if any party is found responsible.
