Rourkela: In a tragic incident, three minor boys drowned to death and another has gone missing while bathing in the Koel river at the Jhiripani pump house bathing ghat in Rourkela today. All the boys are aged between 11-16 years and are siblings.
The deceased boys have been identified as Rishi Sahu, Ayush Sahu, and Kunal Sahu.
Fire Service personnel have launched a search operation to rescue the missing boy-Kaushal.
According to reports, Rishi Sahu, Ayush Sahu, Kunal Sahu and Kaushal Sahu hailing from neighbouring State Jharkhand along with their parents were on a visit to their relative-Ramesh Sahu’s house at Jhirpani.
The four siblings had gone to take bath in river Koel at the Jhirpani pump house bathing ghat at around 3 PM today. While they were taking their bath they were swept away by the current in the river. While Rishi and Ayush were rescued by the locals in critical condition and rushed to the nearest government hospital, Kunal and Kaushal remained missing.
However, Rishi and Ayush were declared dead by the attending doctors at the hospital.
Later, Fire Service personnel fished out the body of Kunal from the river, and Kaushal still remains missing.
