3 Poachers Arrested In Similipal Sanctuary With Seizure Of Boar Meat

Baripada: In a major crackdown on wildlife poaching, a team of forest personnel from the Pithabata North Wildlife Range seized cooked and raw meat of wild boar hunted from Similipal Sanctuary from three accused in their homes.

The accused, identified as Budhia Singh, Gura Singh, and Dharmu Singh, all residents of Ramharipur village under Bangriposi Police Station in Mayurbhanj, were arrested and forwarded to court, said Samrat Gowda, Deputy Director of the Similipal Tiger Reserve (South)

The seizure was made possible through confidential information, leading to a successful raid on the accused’s homes. However, two other accused persons are still at large, and further investigation is underway to apprehend them.
