Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate Police has made elaborate security arrangements for smooth running of the Winter Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly (OLA) starting from Thursday.
City Police Commissioner Saumendra Priyadarshi said a three-tier security system has been put in place i.e. the outer periphery, inner periphery and inside the OLA.
Special Branch of Police have been deployed inside the OLA. Five Control Rooms have been set up at key places to monitor the situation.
DCP Bhubaneswar will supervise the security arrangements. Around 5 Additional SPs, 11 DSPs, 13 Inspectors, 62 Sub-Inspectors, 140 constables, 28 Platoon of force, Special Tactical Unit, and Home Guards are to be deployed.
Three platoons of Quick Response Team (QRT) will remain inside the assembly, one QRT will be at the Lokaseba Bhawan and a mobile QRT will be ready to respond any emergency.
Two special tactical unit or anti-terrorist force will also be deployed to tackle any exigency. Traffic restrictions will be put at place in front of the Assembly.
