Bhubaneswar: The State government today announced that a physical survey will be conducted to identify genuine beneficiaries of ration cards. The final list of beneficiaries will be released after the survey is completed. According to Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra, approximately 30.73 lakh people have yet to complete their e-KYC process. The exact number of beneficiaries who have not completed e-KYC will be determined after March 31. Following this, departmental officers will conduct field visits to ascertain why beneficiaries have not completed their e-KYC, he pointed out. The minister has assured that no ration cards will be cancelled abruptly. Meanwhile, 6.35 lakh individuals have already applied for ration cards through the portal, and their survey is currently underway. The survey process is expected to be completed by April 15, after which new ration card beneficiaries will begin receiving rations. Additionally, 50,000 individuals have applied for new ration cards on the recently launched portal. The verification process for these applications will commence upon completion of the application process, as stated by the minister.
