Bhubaneswar: Over 30 students from Ochinda Primary School in Korei of Jajpur district fell sick on Tuesday following the administration of deworming tablets as part of the National Deworming Day initiative.
The tablets were distributed to the children after their midday meal. Shortly afterward, several students began experiencing symptoms including nausea and vomiting. School teachers, assisted by guardians, transported the affected children to the nearby Korei Community Health Centre.
Medical staff there provided immediate care, including injections and intravenous fluids to stabilize them. While several students recovered sufficiently to be discharged after treatment, some remained under medical observation and continued receiving care.
Doctors confirmed that all the affected children were stable, no longer in any serious danger, and steadily recovering.
