Cuttack: Around 3000 rotten eggs, being transported to a bakery at Saanta Sahi in Cuttack city, were seized by the city’s civic body on Wednesday.
Acting on a tip-off, the health and food safety squad of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) conducted a raid and seized the vehicle transporting the eggs.
The CMC officials have also detained the driver of the vehicle.
It has been alleged that the rotten eggs were to be used in the bakery to prepare cakes and other items which were later to be sold in the market.
