Bhubaneswar: A total of 31,39,804 pucca houses have been completed and provided to homeless families in rural areas of Odisha under the various rural housing schemes in the period from 2014-15 financial year till 21st of November this year, informed Minister for Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water Pradip Kumar Amat in the State Assembly today.
Replying to a question by BJD member from Khandapara Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, Amat added that 1,64,227 pucca houses for the homeless in rural areas of the State are under construction.
He said that 12,24,726 families staying in kutcha houses have been identified and required steps are being taken for sanction under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).
The outlay for this has been estimated at Rs 15,545 crore, he added.
