Bhubaneswar: The 31st Odisha State Film Awards were presented at a ceremony at Utkal Mandap here on Monday. Noted film producer and director Ghanashyam Mohapatra received the Jayadev Puraskar while ‘Kalira Atita’ was adjudged as the Best Film. Similarly, Nila Madhav Panda was felicitated with Best Director award for ‘Kalira Atita’.
Saroj Parida and Kavya Kiran have won the Best Actor and the Best Actress award for the film, ‘Khusi’. The 31st Odisha State Film Awards-2019 was held up due to Covid 19 pandemic.
It may be noted that the Orissa High Court had earlier nullified the 31st Odisha State Film Awards for 2019, announced by the State Government in November 2021. Odia film director Bobby Islam had challenged the legality of the selection list on grounds that it violated Odisha State Awards for Films Rules, 2010, after the selection list was published in November 2021.
