Bhubaneswar: As part of the BJP’s ongoing national organisational elections, 32 leaders from Odisha have been elected unopposed as members of the party’s National Council, according to an official announcement made today by Sanjay Jaiswal, the National Observer in charge of Odisha.
Addressing the media at the party’s state headquarters in Bhubaneswar, Jaiswal said the nomination process concluded on Monday as per directives from National Election Officer Dr. K. Laxman. “All 32 members have been elected unopposed as there were no competing nominations,” he informed.
The elected National Council Members from Odisha are: Bimbadhar Kuanr, Prem Sagar Oram, Sabita Nanda, Dilip Mishra, Mamita Nayak, Budhan Murmu, Jiban Pradeep Das, Anil Behera, Purnachandra Pani, Binod Bihari Jena, Sanchita Mohanty, Premananda Jena, Om Prakash Joshi, Basant Panda, Pradipta Kumar Naik, Gurucharan Mohanty, Parshuram Majhi, Sanjit Mandal, Brajendra Ray, Duryodhan Sahu, Ishwar Chandra Behera, Upendranath Biswal, Madhusudan Singari, Pratyusha Rajeshwari Singh, Ajay Kumar Mishra, Kananbala Pattnaik, Jayanti Padhiar, Mahesh Chandra Mohanty, Kahnucharana Pati, Nalinikant Patra, Jayaram Bhoi, and W. Ganapati.
The names were announced a day after the conclusion of the nomination process on July 7. The notification for the final phase of the BJP’s 2024 organisational elections was issued on July 4, and the final voter list was published on July 6.
Jaiswal also confirmed that Manmohan Samal has been elected unopposed as the State President, since only one nomination was received for the post.
The press meet was attended by several senior party leaders, including National Vice-President Baijayant Panda, National Spokesperson and Co-Election Officer Dr. Sambit Patra, State Election Officer and MP Pratap Sarangi, State In-Charge Vijay Pal Singh Tomar, National Deputy Leader and State Co-In-Charge Lata Usendi, and former State President Suresh Pujari.
