Bhubaneswar: As many as 328 persons were killed in attacks by wild animals including elephants in Odisha during the last three years (2019-20 to 2021-22).
Replying to a question by BJD member from Khandapara Soumya Ranjan Patnaik in the Odisha Assembly today, Forest, Environment & Climate Change Minister Pradip Kumar Amat said that 328 human lives were lost to attacks by wild animals in the State between 2019-20 to 2021-22.
Similarly, Amat told the House that as many as 930 persons were injured in attacks by wild animals during the same period.
Besides, he further informed that as many as 1461 poachers were arrested during the aforementioned period of three years.
