Bhubaneswar: In the wake of new Covid variant Omicron, as many as 380 persons have returned to Odisha from ‘at-risk’ countries, informed Public Health Director Dr Niranjan Mishra on Thursday.
“So far, total of 380 persons have returned to Odisha from ‘at-risk’ countries. Of them, 224 persons have returned before November 28, and the rest 156 persons have arrived on November 29,” said Mishra.
“Travellers are to follow mandatory testing protocol and subsequent 7-day quarantine. The List of the foreign returnees has been submitted to concerned district administrations to take follow-up actions as per the guidelines,” he added.
The government has revised the guidelines for international travellers as a public health response measure for the control and management of the new variant of Covid-19 which has been designated as a Variant of Concern by the World Health Organization.
