3rd COVID-19 Positive Patient In Bhubaneswar Not Exhibiting Severe Symptoms

Bhubaneswar: The third patient who was tested positive for the Coronavirus in Bhubaneswar is not exhibiting severe symptoms, just mild fever and cough, informed Chief Spokesperson of Odisha Government’s COVID-19 management team, Subroto Bagchi, on Friday.

During the 12th address-cum-media-briefing from Geeta Gobinda Sadan here today, Bagchi said that the health condition of the previous two identified patients is asymptomatic and stable while the third patient has been placed under observation. All are taking normal hospital diet.

As of 1 PM today, 256 samples were sent for COVID-19 test and reports of 189 samples have been obtained. One new positive case found as mentioned above, thus positive case stands at three.

It is reported that 55 persons had come in contact with the first two COVID-19 positive cases and all have been contacted. Contacts of last case are being traced. 100 monitoring teams are working for the purpose across the State, including 10 teams in Bhubaneswar.

Bagchi further informed that 4495 persons who have arrived into the State from outside have been registered through 104 Helpline and portal. Besides, 37 persons who were in contact with the first two positive cases are in Hospital Isolation.

Giving global updates, Bagchi informed that as many has 5,37,178 persons in 189 countries were reported infected and 24,126 dead due to the coronavirus pandemic till 2.25 PM today. 

The number of person infected in India stands at 753 with 20 deaths. The United States now has the highest number of known cases of coronavirus in the world with 85,612 infected and 1301 dead.
