4 Covid-19 Deaths In Bhubaneswar In Last 24 Hrs, 253 New Positives Reported

Bhubaneswar: While 253 new Covid-19 positive cases have been detected in Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) area in the last 24 hours till 9 AM today, four afflicted with the deadly virus have succumbed to the disease during the same period.

The total death toll due to Covid-19 in the city rose to 127.

The BMC has shared the information through a tweet from its official handle today.

The civic body has said that out of the 253 new positive cases detected in the city 180 (71%) are Local Contact Cases and the remaining 73 are Quarantine Cases.

The highest, 13 local contact cases have been reported from Laxmisagar area; while 10 such cases have been detected from Saheed Nagar.

Similarly, nine local contact cases have been detected each from Patia and Khandagiri, while 7 such cases have been reported each from Chandrasekharpur, Dumduma and Nayapalli.

A few other areas in the city have reported local contact cases on a scale of six to one.

The BMC has informed that 299 persons have recovered from Covid-19 in the city in the last 24 hours taking the total number recoveries in the city to 23,166.

As on date, the city has a total count of 26536 positive cases out which 3222 are active cases.
