Koraput: Jeypore Town police have arrested four persons for allegedly producing fake certificates for appointment as Branch Post Master (BPM) and Assistant Branch Post Master (ABPM) under Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) of India Post.
The accused have been identified as Gopal Krushna Patnaik (25) of Raighar in Nabarangpur district, Sarathi Halba (23) of Lulupadar village of Koraput district, Dami Harijan (25) of Nabarangpur and Kishore Khara (29) of Malkangiri.
According to the police, the accused persons had applied for the posts of BPM and ABPM under GDS by submitting fake certificates.
They were also shortlisted for appointment to the posts, however, the certificates submitted by them were found to be fake during verification.
Following the detection, the Postal Department filed a complaint at the Jeypore police station in this regard.
The accused persons had allegedly submitted fake certificates of institutions in Uttar Pradesh.
Police have forwarded the accused persons to court following their arrests.
