4 Killed, 6 Critical In Lightning Strikes In Balasore District

Balasore: At least four persons were killed and six others were seriously injured when lightning struck them on Wednesday at different places in Balasore district while they were working on farmlands.

The seriously injured have been shifted to the district headquarters hospital here.

According to reports, there was heavy rain with lightning in the afternoon today. Some people were working in the fields at Belagan, Pansapada and Patrajhada villages under Basta block of Balasore district when lightning struck them. While four persons died on the spot, six were seriously injured. Locals rescued the injured persons and got them admitted to the hospital.
