Bhubaneswar: Four persons were killed and four others have been seriously injured in separate incidents of lightning strikes across Odisha on Friday.
According to reports, a man and his daughter were killed in a lightning strike in the afternoon today at Kuilipal village under Mahuldiha police limits in Mayurbhanj district. The deceased have been identified as Khudura Nayak and his daughter Sambhari. They were rushed to Thakurmunda Community Health Centre following the lightning strike. However, both Khudura and Sabhari were declared dead by the doctors at the CHC.
In a separate incident, an employee of a finance firm died and two women were seriously injured in a lightning strike at Baghua village in Dhenkanal district.
Similarly, an elderly man was killed and another was seriously injured in a lightning strike at Kirikita village under Khariar block in Nuapada district.
Besides, a 50-year-old woman identified as Sukanti Behera of Goudapatna village under Khandapada block of Nayagarh district died in a lightning strike.
