Bhubaneswar: Over 4 lakh students are set to appear for the Annual Higher Secondary Examination (AHSE) 2026 in Odisha, with the state government putting in place stringent security and administrative measures to ensure a smooth and fair conduct of the exams scheduled from February 18 to March 28.
According to the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), a total of 4,01,632 students will appear for the exams across 1,357 centres operating under 1,909 higher secondary schools. The examinations will be conducted in 23 sittings, and 211 examination management hubs where question papers will be stored will be kept under AI-enabled camera surveillance.
Controller of Examinations, Prasanta Kumar Parida, said the government has imposed strict anti-malpractice measures.
“Mobile phones and all electronic devices are completely banned inside exam centres for students and officials. Everyone involved in the examination process will have to deposit their mobile phones with the centre superintendent or leave them in their vehicles before entering the premises. The superintendents will maintain a date-wise record of all deposited phones,” Parida said.
Security arrangements also include two-stage frisking and identity verification of examinees, with special provisions for the safety and privacy of girl students.
The CHSE has urged students and parents to cooperate with exam authorities and follow the guidelines to ensure a smooth, transparent, and fair examination process.
