Bhubaneswar: In a major breakthrough in a vehicle theft case, the Plantsite Police on Monday arrested four persons and recovered five stolen motorcycles in Rourkela.
According to an official press release, the arrested persons have been identified as Mafug Alam (19), Md. Salman (19), Sk. Taj (19), and Mithun Biswakarma (24) — all hailing from Sundargarh district. The arrests were made following an investigation into a series of motorcycle thefts reported in the area.
Acting on credible inputs, police conducted a raid and seized five two-wheelers from the possession of the accused. The recovered vehicles include:
- A white Honda Aviator (Reg No: OD-14-J-8856)
- A Hero Honda Super Splendor (Reg No: OR-14N-1067)
- A Hero Honda Splendor (Reg No: OR-14-H-6830)
- A Honda Grazia scooty (Reg No: OD-14-Q-0895)
- Another Hero Honda Splendor (Reg No: OD-14-P-0911)
All five motorcycles have been returned to their rightful owners, police confirmed.
Further investigation is underway to ascertain the involvement of the accused in other similar cases across the district.
