**Bhubaneswar:** The annual glittering 14th Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon (SCMM) was held in Mumbai, the capital city of Maharashtra, on Sunday (January 15), where other than top sportspersons, corporate bigwigs and commoners, four senior officers from Odisha also participated in the event.
Four Odisha senior officers-Sanjeeb Panda, IG Special Armed Police, Manoj Ahuja, Principal Secretary Agriculture, Subrat Kumar Panda, Private Secretary to Minister of Tourism and Lalit Das, Special Secretary Home Department-participated in the event and successfully completed the full marathon of 42.195 kms in 4 hours and 2 minutes, 4 hours and 19 minutes, 5 hours and 13 minutes and 5 hours and 43 minutes respectively.
The quartet belonged to the prominent Bhubaneswar Cycling and Adventure Club (BCAC) that promotes cycling, running, deep sea swimming, coastal trekking and mountaineering.
However, Tanzanian athlete Alphonce Felix Simbu (24) and Kenyan runner Bornes Kitur Chepkirui (31), flew past all competitions to bag the top spots in the men’s and women’s category respectively in the full marathon.
