Nuapada: A four-year-old boy who fell into a vessel containing hot kheer in Ranimunda village under Khadial block of Odisha’s Nuapada district on Friday last succumbed to his injuries on Monday while undergoing treatment.
The victim has been identified as the four-year-old son of Hutesh Kumar Herna of Ranimunda village.
According to reports, a feast was being cooked in the village when the child who was playing nearby slipped and fell into the cauldron containing hot kheer. A bystander rescued the child immediately. By then, the child sustained critical burn injuries and was rushed to the Khadiyal Mission Hospital. Later, he was shifted to Raipur District Headquarters Hospital as his condition deteriorated.
A pall of gloom descended on Ranimunda village today as the news of the child’s death spread.
