Rayagada: At least 41 students of the Government Girls’ High School in the remote Chandrapur block headquarters of Rayagada district have tested positive for Covid-19, official sources revealed.
The infected students have been kept in isolation and are being provided with medical treatment, informed District Welfare Officer (DWO) Ashok Satpathy.
Their health condition is being monitored, Satpathy added.
On Wednesday, a few inmates of the school’s girls’ hostel on feeling unwell visited the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Chandrapur. Twelve of them tested positive for Covid-19.
Following that, nasopharyngeal swabs of 151 students residing in the hostel were collected and tested and out of them, 29 were found to be infected with the Covid-19 virus.
