Sundargarh: Scrub typhus, a vector-borne disease, is spreading alarmingly in Odisha’s Sundargarh district. With the detection of 11 more positive cases on Tuesday, the total number of patients in this district reached 441.
According to reports, 45 blood samples were examined yesterday, and 11 of those were found to be positive for scrub typhus.
The district Chief Medical Officer has said that a medical team is working relentlessly to curb the spread of the disease in Sundargarh. While the special medical team is ready to deal with any exigency, enough medicines are available at the health centers. In addition, a sensitisation programme has been launched to make the people aware of the disease, he added.
