Bhubaneswar: Odisha Health Minister Health & Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das on Saturday inaugurated the fourth screening and free treatment camp for children suffering with heart disease at the Sri Sathya Sai Community Centre in Bhubaneswar.
It may be mentioned that the Odisha government had inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Sri Satya Sai Heart Hospital in Ahmedabad of Gujarat for free treatment of children suffering from the cardiac problem.
In total 1300 children have been screened for the disease in three such camps till date, out of which 500 cases have been operated successfully.
Screening of over 500 children will be done in the fourth camp and the children in need of treatment will be sent to Sri Satya Sai Heart Hospital.
The Odisha Government is providing the screening and free treatment through the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) under the National Health Mission, which envisages Child Health Screening and Early Intervention Services.
