Dhenkanal: The Special Task Force (STF) busted an illegal arms racket with the arrest of one Rohita Naik, a native of Chhatia under Sadar police limits. The STF personnel recovered five country-made pistols and six live ammunition from Naik’s possession.
The accused was intercepted while he was moving on Chhatia – Tibalpur road.
“The accused person could not produce any valid authority in support of the possession of such illegal arms. He was detained and handed over to Dhenkanal Sadar police,” the STF stated.
In this connection, a case was registered by Dhenkanal Sadar police under Sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act and the investigation is on.
