Boudh: On Tuesday in the Boudh district, forest personnel arrested five people, including a father-daughter pair, on allegations of poaching.
Uttam Pradhan and his daughter Sabitri Majhi of Padmatola hamlet, which is part of the Sripaju sector of the Kusanga forest range, were named among the accused.
According to reports, Kusanga wildlife division foresters searched two locations in the early hours of Tuesday after receiving information regarding poaching activities in the area.
When Uttam and Sabitri’s home was searched, they discovered evidence and wildlife goods, and when they were unable to fully account for the items, they arrested Uttam and his daughter.
Hooks, two country rifles, hazardous explosives, Indian pangolin scales, and other goods were seized from them.
