Nuapada: Forest department staff have rescued five wild boar piglets from an abandoned well inside the Khariar Gadarasini reserve forest in Nuapada district on Monday.
One Kailash Bandichhor of Gadramunda village under Khariar block on sighting five wild boar piglets to have fallen inside an abandoned well in the Khariar Gadarasini reserve forest informed the Forest department.
Upon being informed Forest department staff rescued the piglets from the abandoned well.
Forester Kandarpa Sunani has said that the rescued piglets are being provided with medical treatment at the Khariar Veterinary Hospital and arrangements are underway to release them into the forest soon.
Veterinarian Sangram Behera treating the piglets at the Khariar Veterinary Hospital has said that three of the piglets are male while two are female. Behera has told that the combined weight of the five piglets was more than 4 Kgs.
