**Rourkela**: Rising rape cases of minor girls do not seem to end inspite of several measures taken by Odisha police to create awareness regarding this menace. The latest incident has been reported from Sundergarh district where 5-yr-old girl was allegedly raped by a minor boy of her village on Tuesday.
The matter came to light after the mother of the girl lodged a complaint in the Bonai PS of the district. As per her complaint, she was returning to her village from the Tehsil office with her minor daughter when she spotted a minor boy of the same village on bicycle. She asked him to drop the little girl at home on his cycle, to which he agreed immediately.
But, he took her to his house first and raped her.
When her mother reached home, the little girl narrated the whole ordeal after which she lodged a complaint with the police.
The police have detained the accused boy, and have sent both the victim and the accused to Bonai Sub Divisional Hospital for medical examination.
