Bhubaneswar: The government will set up a 500-bed Trauma Care Centre at the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack to provide advanced treatment to people who have suffered from accidents.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has approved a proposal in this regard.

It is worth noting that the proposed Trauma Care Centre will be implemented under the Central government’s ‘Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana’.

While the Central government will provide 60 per cent of the funds for this, the state government will give the remaining 40 per cent.

The Chief Minister had written to the Union Health Minister JP Nadda on July 2, 2024 requesting him for establishing of a Trauma Care Centre at the SCB Medical College and Hospital.

After the Union government’s in-principle approval, now the proposal has been approved by the state government. A detailed project report (DPR) will be prepared and steps will be taken to establish the project soon.
