Malkangiri: As a total of 10 cases of COVID-19 were detected in the district with one local case in the municipality area in the last 24 hours, Malkangiri Collector Manish Agarwal on Wednesday declared a 52-Hour complete shutdown of the municipality area from July 3.
It is observed that one local COVID-19 positive case is detected in Malkangiri municipality and in this emergency situation, complete shutdown of municipality area is highly needed to contain the spread of COVID-19 and effective tracing, read an order from the Collector.
The order stated that the complete shutdown will be from 8 PM of July 3 to 11.59 PM of July 5. The activities which shall be allowed during the shutdown are as mentioned below.
- All medical establishments including hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, including medicine stores, movement of ambulance and all medical personnel.
- District and Municipal Administration/Police/Fire Services
- Central & State Government officials on emergency duty
- Telecom services
- Petrol pumps
- Print and Electronic Media identified by District Police, Water Supply, sanitation and sewerage workers
- Electricity supply and distribution
- Movement of goods and good carriers, whether loaded or unloaded
- Service sector industries, including Hotel & Hospitality units. Operation of hotels and hospitality units, if guests are there, including their associated offices, movement of staff and associated personnel.
- Road transport on highways, road movement of transiting vehicles
- Movement of Public Transport, private vehicles and taxis to and from bus terminals/ stands/ stops/house only in case of emergency, for facilitating movement of passengers by road.
- Marriages and Funerals, with permission from the undersigned
- ATMs and critical financial institutions Clearing Houses
- Operations of Bus Terminals and their associated offices, movement of associated personnel and activities
- Home Delivery of food, groceries, vegetables and essential items by restaurants and aggregators such as Zomato, Swiggy etc.
- Dhabas along National and State Highways/ Major roads for takeaway only
- Milk booths
- Food & Grocery stores for home delivery only
- Newspaper hawkers between 5 am and 8 am only
It has been further mentioned that any deviation of the order shall entail prosecution under the penal provisions of Disaster Management Act, 2005 and IPC.
