Dense Fog, Light Rain Forecast For Several Odisha Districts For Next 3 Days

Bhubaneswar: Even as dense fog occurred in several places in Odisha on Thursday morning, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday forecast light rain/thundershowers in several places for the next three days.

According to the IMD, dry weather prevailed in most places in Odisha except light to moderate rainfall at one or two places in Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, and Puri on Wednesday. The chief amount of rainfall was recorded in Bahalda (Mayurbhanj), Rourkela (Sundargarh), and Panposh (Sundargarh), while shallow to moderate fog occurred at one or two places in Odisha. Dense to very dense fog occurred at one or two places in Bhadrak, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kendrapara, and Nayagar.

The minimum temperatures observed an appreciable fall at one or two places in north coastal Odisha, a marked rise at one or two places, appreciable rise at one or two places in north interior Odisha.

The highest maximum temperature of 32.8°C was recorded at Paralakhemundi and the lowest minimum temperature of 12.5°C was recorded at Sundargarh in the plains of Odisha.

Weather forecast and warning for districts of Odisha:

Day 1 (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 19.01.2024)

Light to moderate rain\thundershower is very likely to occur in a few places over the districts of Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj, and Light rain is very likely to occur in one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Deogarh, Balasore, Bhadrak, Angul and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the remaining districts of Odisha.

Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of north interior Odisha and one or two places over the remaining districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Khurda, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Koraput, Bolangir, Sonepur, and Boudh.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 19.01.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 20.01.2024)

Light rain is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, and Bhadrak, and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha. Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of south interior Odisha and one or two places over the remaining districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Dense fog very is likely to occur at one or two places in Koraput, Malkangiri, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Nawarangpur, and Nayagarh.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 20.01.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 21.01.2024)

Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha. Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at a few places in south Odisha and one or two places in north interior Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Bolangir, Boudh, and Sonepur.

Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 21.01.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 22.01.2024)

Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.

Day 5 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 22.01.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 23.01.2024)

Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.
