Bhubaneswar: Paddy procurement for the 2021-22 Kharif season has ended in the Odisha with procurement of 57, 22,304 metric tonnes of paddy from 12, and 92,732 farmers.
The State government has informed that as compared to the 2020-21 Kharif season this year paddy has been procured from one lakh more farmers.
Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain has said that 57.22 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been procured from 12.92 lakh farmers at a cost of over Rs 11101.27 crore.
As compared to 2018-19, in 2021-22 more than 95 per cent of farmers who sold their paddy are small and marginal farmers.
