Bhubaneswar: As many as 57 babies have been born in Covid hospitals in Ganjam district, however, the newborns haven’t shown any symptoms and are healthy.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik took to Twitter to share the happy news from his official Twitter handle. His tweet added, “Heartening to know that all of them are healthy with no symptoms of #COVID19.”
Of the 57 babies, 32 were born to women infected with the novel coronavirus. The mothers have now recovered from infection and are also healthy.
Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) Director Dr Sanghamitra Pati said yesterday that as much as 31% or one-third population of Berhampur have developed antibodies to Covid-19. She added that seroprevalence ranged between 7% in some wards to 60% in some wards. Dr Pati further revealed that 90% of the population who have developed antibodies had no symptoms or had not developed any symptoms.
