Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday visited Utkalmani Pandit Gopabandhu’s birthplace in Suando village near Sakshigopal in Puri district and paid tribute to him. The Chief Minister was accompanied by his deputies KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, Sambit Patra, BJP MP from Puri constituency, and several party MPs and MLAs.
Earlier, Majhi and his Council of Ministers visited the Puri Jagannath Temple and paid their obeisance to Lord Jagannath and his deity siblings. All four gates of the 12th-century shrine were opened in their presence after the morning Alati this morning, thus fulfilling the poll promise made by the BJP.
In Suando, the Chief Minister and the members of his Council of Ministers and MPs interacted with the local people and heard their grievances. While talking to the villagers, Majhi said that the promises made in the BJP’s election manifesto are guarantees of Prime Minister Modi. “All these promises will be fulfilled soon,” he said, adding, “The state government will soon implement a new policy for the farmers of the state. Several problems of the farmers will be solved after this policy comes into effect.”
