Bhubaneswar: As many as 5,770 villages in Odisha are bereft of mobile connectivity, informed Electronics & Information Technology Minister Tusharkanti Behera in the State Assembly today.
In a written reply to a question by Congress lawmaker from Jeypore Taraprasad Bahinipati, Minister Behera told that out of the 5,770 villages bereft of mobile network in the State, 1978 are in undivided Koraput district (comprised of present Koraput, Rayagada, Malkangiri and Nowrangpur districts).
Behera has further informed that the government targets to bring all the villages in the undivided Koraput district under mobile network coverage by the end of December this year(2023).
