Bhubaneswar: 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman Kartik Pandian visited Khurda-based Barunei Shrine on early Thursday morning to review the temple renovation work.
According to sources, Pandian reached the temple at 5.30am in the morning and offered prayers to the presiding deities of the temple. He later held a discussion with the temple priests and senior officials regarding developmental work being carried out to give a facelift to the shrine.
On the occasion, he visited Sitakunda Hill apart from reviewing the ropeway system. Pandian laid stress on the timely completion of renovation work.
Sports Secretary, Khurda District Collector and other senior officials were present during his visit to the shrine.
It may be noted that Barunei Shrine is a famous picnic spot. Located on the Barunei Hill in Khurda, the temple has idols of the twin goddesses Barunei and Karunei in the sanctum sanctorum. A beautiful stream known as Swarna Ganga enhances the beauty of this place.
