Bhubaneswar: 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman VK Pandian visited the 2,000-seating capacity Kalamandal near Sainik School in Bhubaneswar on Sunday morning. Kalamandal, the biggest convention center of the Government of Odisha is being constructed by IDCO for the Odia Language Literature & Culture Department.
During the review, MD IDCO was directed to complete this project within four months. Pandian also suggested the design of Kalamandal’s interior keeping in view the aesthetics of Odisha’s culture and heritage by teaming up with the Culture Department.
The 5T Chairman later visited the place where the work for the Akhyara Bhoomi is being undertaken by the Works Department. The Akhyara Bhoomi will commemorate the 1st World Odia Language Conference being held in Bhubaneswar from February 3 to 5. A commemorative Arch reflecting the Kalinga style of architecture in khondalite stone shall also adorn the Akhyara Bhoomi. It shall be an attraction point for the youth reminding them about the rich heritage of the classical Odia language.
During the review, it was decided to have space for future expansion of the building and to leave the basement for parking for the vehicles of people visiting the cultural convention center. The 5T Chairman also suggested planting of trees in the space so that the entire campus looks green and install eco-friendly elements.
