Bhubaneswar: On the instructions of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, 5T Secretary V Karthikeya Pandian supervised and reviewed the various projects and developmental works being implemented in Hinjili and Shergarh blocks on Sunday.
On Sunday morning, Pandian first reached the Shyamlai Temple in Burupada Gram Panchayat under Hinjilikattu block, received the blessings of the Goddess, held discussions with the members of the Development Committee of the Temple, and advised the District Magistrate to prepare a detailed project for its improvement and comply with the instructions of the Chief Minister as per the requirements of the committee within the next six months.
Pandian also held discussions with the public representatives of the Gram Panchayat and the rural people about the development work for the improvement of the Gram Panchayat.
The 5T Secretary also visited the Uttareshwar Temple in Shergarh block, Bas Gram Panchayat, Jagannath Temple, Karanjai Temple in Prasna, Jagannath Temple in Kardakana, Jinkaria Shiva Temple in Dhabalpur, Hanuman Temple in Goth Village, Jagannath Temple in Alarigarh, Kureibhi Temple and Ghodeibhi Temple, Gopinath Temple in Gandala, Ishaneshwar. After discussions with all members of the temple management committees and the villagers, Pandian ordered the commencement of work on the beautification of these temple premises and the transformation of the temples.
In Uttareshwara, he directed the District Collector to take steps to improve the skills of the artisans trained by the temple weaving groups, improve their livelihood and increase the volume of sales of garments made by them. He also assured the establishment of a second college at Blas, ITI and a second college at Shergarh Kanchu Government High School, and a higher secondary school, Khambeya Dora Higher Secondary School, Hinjilikatu Science College, Odisha Model College at Gham Amba village, Belgaon Degree College and others.
Visiting college presidents/high school principals/principals, students, and parents and discussing with the improvement of education, how to improve the quality of education of students, including building e-library, smart classrooms, beautification, etc. He advised the District Magistrate and the Chief Development Officer to cooperate in implementing the projects.
Gram Panchayat members of Brahmanchai, Taher, Gothgaon, Basal, Gobindpur, and Narendrapur areas of Thuruburai Gram Panchayat expressed their happiness over the announcements.
Pandian reviewed the work and progress of Mo Hospital, block office, Mission Shakti Cafe, a market complex at Hinjilikatu sub-district hospital.
He directed the Roads and Buildings Executive to review the ongoing bus stand work at Shergarh and complete the work within the stipulated time. At Kalagram of Nandic Gram Panchayat, he interacted with the beneficiaries of the Artist Support Scheme and inspected the beautification of Nandic Street.
