Bhubaneswar: On the instructions of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, 5T Secretary VK Pandian is on a two-day visit to Balasore today to review various developmental works in the district and to meet the common people and take steps to solve their problems.
Pandian went to Bahanaga today to meet the general public, parents, teachers and school committee members at the local high school. At the time of the train accident, recalling that night, Pandian said that the way they spontaneously rushed to rescue people, and set up lines for blood donation to save lives, was incomparable. Expressing that they have brought praise for Odisha all over the country by showing the highest level of humanity, he said that the entire state is indebted to them.
Pandian said that Bahanaga Panchayat will be developed as a model Panchayat of the country. Stating that Bahanaga High School will be converted in the 5T school transformation program, Pandian said that the Chief Minister has sanctioned Rs 2.49 crore for this. He gave the Chief Minister’s approval letter to the District Collector.
Commenting on the pleas of the people for various religious institutions in the region, he said that there will be good news within the next week. He said that the Chief Minister will take a decision in this regard immediately.
He reviewed the work of the primary school being built in Bahanaga under the 5T school transformation program and directed to speed it up. It is worth noting that this is the first primary school in the state in the 5T school transformation program.
Pandian informed that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has sanctioned Rs 128 crore under 5T initiative for the conversion of 128 government higher secondary schools and colleges in Balasore district. At Fakir Mohan Medical College in Remuna, Pandian met the staff of the college and the youth who donated blood during the disaster and praised them for their selfless service.
Pandian visited the famous Panchalingeshwar and Remuna blocks in Oupada block of Balasore and discussed its improvement and beautification with the temple committee, local people and officials. He directed the District Collector to prepare a report and submit it.
He visited the construction work of Salandi Canal in Oupada block and discussed various aspects of the work with departmental engineers and officials. According to the review, the construction of the canal will be completed by December this year.
5T Secretary visited Jamjhadi of Simulia block and Baulagadia panchayat of Oupada block and saw various activities of the local people in the promotion program of ‘One Panchayat, One Product’. He highly appreciated the various products made from bamboo by the members of Mission Shakti in Jamujhadi.
Baba Raghunath of Baulagadia visited the Stone Carving Center and discussed with the artisans there. Stating that their skill and performance is the glory of Odisha, he said that the state government will provide all facilities for its marketing. He advised the officials to make special arrangements to provide market facilities to the artisans involved in the programme.
He visited UN College in Soro Block, Kupari Panchayat Hall in Khaira Block, Panchalingeshwar Temple, Fakir Mohan Medical College, Mission Shakti members and various organizations about their problems.
He directed the District Collector to immediately solve all the problems that can be solved at the district level and advised to send the remaining issues to the state government. He said that all the schools and colleges of Soro will be converted to 5T priority.
After visiting the Community health center in Soro, the 5T Secretary reviewed the ‘Ama Hospital’ program there and spoke to patients and their families. He instructed the officials to streamline Ama hospital program and provide better services to the people.
5T Secretary visited a Mission Shakti Cafe in Panchalingeshwar to get a grasp of its management, food and other issues. He suggested to take the business forward by making food according to the demand of the people.
