Bhubaneswar: The Secretary to Chief Minister (5T) V.K. Pandian on Monday advised the employees including drivers, and conductors of buses under LAccMI scheme to provide selfless service and treat passengers like their own family members.
Addressing the bus staff, 5T Secretary Pandian said that communication is the medium of economic and social progress. Our topmost responsibility is to provide quality service to people, he said.
From children to farmers, traders, and labourers, everyone will benefit from this bus scheme, he pointed out.
School and college students can communicate with their educational institutions. Farmer can take their produce and sell it in the market. Merchants can do business smoothly. Patients can access the facility to visit the hospital. It will also ease communication issues of ‘Mission Shakti’ mothers, Pandian said.
The transport service will bring prosperity to rural areas as Lakshmi (LAccMI) is the symbol of prosperity. It will also lead to economic growth and ensure better rural communication.
On the occasion, he emphasized on 3-‘S’ i.e Surakhya, Subidha, Samman. It is the duty of the staff to take care of the safety of all passengers, he maintained.
As many as 650 employees including bus drivers, conductors, and managers participated in the interaction.
It is worth mentioning that in the first phase, bus operations under LAccMI will be started in six districts in south Odisha. These districts are – Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati and Kandhamal.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will launch the scheme for Malkangari district on October 12. The scheme proposes to run buses from panchayat to block and from block to district headquarters.
