Bhubaneswar: On the instructions of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian visited Vedavyas Peeth near Rourkela today.
Pandian had a discussion with the members of the Peeth’s Trust Board, servitors of the Peeth, and the local people about the development of the Peeth under the 5T initiative.
Pandian asked the District Magistrate to prepare a detailed plan for the Peeth’s development and submit it for the Chief Minister’s approval within fifteen days.
The discussion focused mainly on the development of Swargadwar, improvement of the river front, development of various infrastructure facilities for the visitors, construction of Jatri Nivas and installation of light and sound show system.
Vedavyas is a major pilgrimage site in Odisha. Every day, many visitors from the State and outside come to this Peeth.
Therefore, the State government is continuing its efforts for the overall development of this Peeth, Pandian said.
During the visit Sundargarh District Collector Parag Gavali, Rourkela Municipal Commissioner Shubhankar Mohapatra were present among others.
