Bhubaneswar: Under instructions of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian today visited Puri and Cuttack to review the progress of different projects.
Pandian first visited Puri and reviewed the progress made in the construction of Shree Jagannatha Heritage Corridor, Shree Setu and Jagannath Ballav Jatri Niwas. It is the most important work in the State government’s heritage transformation project. The project aims at enhancing the importance of Puri as a heritage site at the international level.
Pandian informed that the CM has directed for weekly review of the progress made in the Puri project.
In the afternoon Pandian visited Cuttack and first visited the under construction Netaji Bus Terminal at Khan Nagar and reviewed the progress made with the officials at the site. During the review, it was revealed that construction of the bus terminal will be completed by June 15.
It is pertinent to mention here that the CM had laid the foundation stone of this under construction bus terminal on 15 acre piece of land on the 23rd of January in 2021.
The terminal a three-storeyed building has parking bays for 180 buses and several other facilities. This will bring improvement in traffic management in Cuttack city and facilitate inter-state bus movement.
Then Pandian visited Maa Cuttack Chandi temple, offered prayers and reviewed the progress of the construction work. He reviewed the beautification of the temple, the construction of the road, etc.
From the review, it was found that the transformation of the temple will be completed by the end of this year. A sum of Rs 40 crore is being spent for the transformation of the Maa Cuttack Chandi temple. The transformation work of the temple is targeted to be dedicated to the service of the devotees on New Year’s Day.
Later Pandian visited Ranihat Clock Tower, Taladanda Canal, and Chhatrabazar vending zone and inspected the development work. He advised speeding up work.
Among others, Cuttack Collector Bhabani Shankar Chayani, CMC Commissioner Nikhil Pawan Kalyan, Cuttack DCP Pinak Mishra, and CDA Chairman Anil Samal were present during Pandian’s visit.
