Bhubaneswar: The State Government has in-principle decided to undertake 5T Transformation of Government health facilities. In the first phase, during January to October, 2023, the following facilities will be covered under 5T transformation.
These are: Capital Hospital Bhubaneswar, Rourkela Government Hospital and all District Headquarters Hospitals (30). Apart from this, one healthcare centre in every Assembly Constituency where DHH, Capital Hospital and RGH are not located, will be identified for the initiative.
According to a letter to the Collectors from Commissioner-cum-Secretary of Health and Family Shalini Pandit, the following guidelines be followed for selection of health facilities in those constituencies. These are:
First Referral Units (FRUs) located in the assembly constituency will be given priority. However, where the civil structure of the FRU requires major repair and is not in a fit condition to undertake transformation in 2023, an alternate health facility in (SDH or CHC) may be selected for that constituency.
Where no FRU is available in the constituency, preference will be given to the highest caseload health facility there (SDH/CHC) for the transformation.
Buildings that require very high expenditure on civil works should not be included in the first phase. Health facilities that do not have robust patient footfall, should not be undertaken for the 5T Transformation to the extent possible.
Pandit has asked the Collectors to submit their final list of selected health faculties within the next 5 days to the Mission Director, National Health Mission. The detailed estimates for the works should be finalised in next 15 days and furnished before the MD, NHM, the letter added.
